Will County Sheriff’s Deputy Dies of COVID-19 Complications

WILL COUNTY, Illinois – A Will County Sheriff’s Assistant died on Saturday due to complications from COVID-19, the Will County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputy Michael Queeney was a 20 year veteran of the ministry who began his law enforcement career as a corrections officer. Queeney had served as an Assistant in the Enforcement Division and later in the Civil Division, beginning her tenure as Deputy in April 2003.

Queeney died at Edward Hospital in Naperville with her family by her side and was escorted by several Will County Police Departments to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet for burial.
