With Christmas in July drawing to a close, Hallmark Channel once again brings viewers some summer love with the return of Summer Nights. The next movie to be released in that lineup is “A Splash of Love.” The film, which stars Rhiannon Fish and Benjamin Hollingsworth, opens on Saturday night.
The film will be a treat for fans who are eager for the summer movies to return, but also for those who really know the stars of the film, who have starred in Hallmark movies in the past. Fish has previously appeared in “Journey of My Heart,” “The 27-Hour Day,” and “You’re Bacon Me Crazy,” as well as the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries titles “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made” and “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: How to Con A Con.”
As for Hollingsworth, she has notably appeared in the Hallmark Channel movie “Love Under the Olive Tree” as well as the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries title “A Godwink Christmas: Meant For Love.” He is also known for his role as Dan Brady in “Virgin River.”
Madeleine Kelders (“Love, Classified”) also stars.
So what can fans of the film expect? Let’s find out.
“Chloe (Fish) is in the middle of her Ph.D. program in marine mammals (the study of whales) at one of the best universities in Miami,” reads a synopsis for the film. “She spends long hours in the lab, but what she likes most is being in the water with the majestic creatures. But given her competitive field, she doesn’t get that opportunity as much as she would like.”
“At the top of her class, she is considering applying for a highly coveted scholarship that would fund the last two years of her doctorate,” the synopsis continues. “Dr. Andrea Ware (Kelders), Chloe’s mentor, encourages her to go beyond her home waters. Dr. Ware convinces her to expand her studies to cover whales in the Pacific Northwest, where she would gain more experience in the field and hopefully the confidence to apply for the scholarship. While there, Chloe meets a whale-watching tour guide (Hollingsworth), and they soon find themselves bonding over more than just killer whales.”
“A Splash of Love” airs Saturday, July 30 at 8 p.m. EDT on the Hallmark Channel.
