Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that his side’s efforts to compete for the Premier League title could come to an end if his side lose to Manchester City on Saturday.
And the British news agency ‘BA Media’ has reported that the Chelsea team are 10 points behind leaders Manchester City, coached by Pep Guardiola, before meeting tomorrow, Saturday, at the Etihad Stadium.
And Andreas Christensen has become the latest Chelsea player to be infected with the Corona virus.
Chelsea beat Manchester City with a clean goal at Porto last May to win the Champions League title, but Tuchel has confirmed that Guardiola’s men are still the best players in England.
When asked if the loss to Manchester City would end Chelsea’s title competition, Tuchel replied: “Maybe, maybe, who knows.”
He added: “The big difference so far this season, in my opinion, is that they have dealt with injuries and the Corona virus situation better.”
He added: “Maybe it’s luck, maybe they did a better job, whatever, but they have fewer key players injured, fewer players missing games.”
And he added: “They also didn’t suffer from Corona like we suffered for many weeks. So that’s a huge difference.”
He stressed: “You have to be at your highest level if you want to compete with Manchester City. They’re the real benchmark, they’re the best team in England right now. It’s something that needs to be recognised. realistically.”
