Toronto police search wanted man after ankle bracelet removed

Toronto Police are asking the public for help in locating a man who allegedly removed his court-ordered ankle monitor and fled while on bail.

24-year-old Marvin Hernandez-Viera is wanted for obstructing justice and breaching an undertaking after he allegedly cut his ankle bracelet and fled his bailiff’s home on Wednesday afternoon.

Hernandez-Viera was arrested in 2019 for attempted murder in a shootout at a skyscraper in the Islington Avenue and Dixon Road neighborhood that seriously injured a 19-year-old woman.

“He is known to be violent and dangerous. If it is located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately, ”police said.

“Investigators urge Hernandez-Viera to contact a lawyer and arrange for his surrender.”

Police are asking anyone with information about Hernandez-Viera’s whereabouts to contact investigators at 416-808-1100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
