Lawyer and commentator Caroline Di Russo has said the Queen must “protect the institution” of the Royal Family from Prince Andrew’s civil case.
It comes as the Queen stripped Prince Andrew of his military titles and royal patronages.
Prince Andrew is facing a civil case in the US for sexually assaulting a woman when he was 17.
“At the end of the day, the Queen is the head of an institution,” Ms Di Russo told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
“And if these proceedings are going to continue, which appears to be the case now, well, I think the Queen has probably given Andrew about as much space and probably a little more than he could have l ‘to hope.”
