Satellite images capture lightning activity in the south as stormy weather persists

A National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite captured lightning activity over parts of the southern US as stormy weather continued in the region on Friday, May 6. The images, captured Thursday, show large swaths of lightning flashing across Texas and Louisiana and was captured using a specialized lightning mapper, according to NOAA.
