NSW’s Omicron wave set to peak in late January

New modeling suggests the Omicron wave in NSW will peak in the third to last week of January, according to NSW Assistant Secretary for Health Susan Pearce.

Ms Pearce said the modeling of health system impacts takes into account factors such as the health of the New South Wales population and the state’s vaccination rates.

“We therefore reiterate that we have difficult weeks ahead of us, but we have been planning this pandemic and continuing to reinvent ourselves for two years now,” she said at a press conference on Wednesday.
