The Council will hold its session at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, chaired by Council Chairman Saqr Ghobash, to discuss a draft federal law concerning the approval of the final consolidated accounts of the Federation and the final accounts of independent bodies for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020, which postponed its discussion at the last meeting due to the absence of the director of the accounting firm Dr Hareb Saeed Al-Amimi.

The session will see 4 questions addressed to the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul-Mannan Al-Awar, including two questions from member Sabreen Hassan Al-Yamahi, on “the location of administrative and supervisory jobs in the private sector ”, and“ the unification of the system of leave and working hours between the private and government sectors ”, and a question from member Obaid Khalfan Al-Ghoul Al-Salami, on“ The location of the post of executive director in vital companies in the Private Sector. ”And finally, a question from member Naama Abdul Rahman Al-Mansoori on“ the location of the auditing profession in the country ”.

The members of the Council will be informed of five federal bills received from the government, three of which were urgently referred by the President of the Board to the competent committees, namely, a federal bill on young offenders and those at risk of delinquency, and a Federal Rehabilitation Bill which was referred to the Committee on Defense, Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, A Federal Bill on the Regulation of Commercial Agencies was referred to the Business Committee financial, economic and industrial.

During the session, the Council referred a federal bill on the organization of places of worship to the Committee for Social Affairs, Labor, Population and Human Resources, as well as a federal bill amending certain provisions of Federal Legislative Decree No. 23 of 2021 concerning the military. decorations, medals and badges to the Defense, Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Committee.

During its next session, the Federal National Council was informed of 7 international agreements and treaties concluded by the government during the previous period, including Federal Decree No. (153) of 2021 ratifying an agreement between the government of the country and the government of the State of Israel to avoid double taxation and prevent financial evasion of income taxes, as well as a Federal Decree No. (154) of 2021 ratifying an agreement between the government of the State and the Government of the State of Israel to Encourage and Protect Investments, and Federal Decree No. (155) ratifying the Amendment to the Agreement signed between the State Government and the International Bureau of Exposures on privileges and advantages granted to official participants of Expo 2020.

The list of international agreements and treaties also included Federal Decree No. (156) of State Accession to the Nice Agreement on the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks, and Decree Federal No. (157) of 2021 ratifying an agreement between the state government and the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on obtaining aid grants from a foundation. the Agreement establishing the International Vaccine Institute, and finally Federal Decree No. (159) of 2021 ratifying an agreement between the State Government and the Government of the Republic of Seychelles regarding cooperation and assistance mutual administrative administration in customs matters.

Discuss the “Government policy on water security”

The Federal National Council, at its session scheduled for next Tuesday, will send an official letter to the Council of Ministers requesting government approval to discuss a general subject on “government policy on water security”, after that the Council agreed, at the last session, to adopt the theme and to include it among the general themes proposed.

The council’s message to request a discussion on the topic included an emphasis that water security in the UAE is a national security issue, as it results from several factors, including location, climate change, population growth, economic growth, excessive consumption and pollution. .

The council said the strategic importance of water has been reflected in the launch of the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, which aims to ensure the sustainability and continuity of access to water. ‘water under natural conditions and extreme urgency, in accordance with state laws and specifications of the World Health Organization, and contributes to achieving community prosperity and prosperity and sustainable growth of the national economy .
