Over the past few years, His Highness’ directives and vision formed the basis of the UAE’s initiatives, financial contributions, work and field projects aimed at strengthening health and treatment programs, implementing vaccination campaigns and providing vaccines around the world.

The “Covid 19” pandemic constituted one of the most difficult contemporary challenges that hit the world, in which the positions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed the human dimension that this man carries in his heart, by extending his helping hand near and far, opening hospitals and providing vaccines, and establishing humane cities, and sending aid to the world without discrimination or discrimination.


Since the beginning of the pandemic, the UAE has been one of the first countries to support initiatives aimed at mitigating the impact of the crisis around the world, accounting for 80% of the total volume of international response to affected countries during the pandemic.

The UAE took charge of the process of evacuating the citizens of many sister and friendly countries from China’s Hubei province, the epicenter of the “Covid 19” virus outbreak, and transporting them to the Emirates Humanitarian City in Abu Dhabi, while His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the establishment of drive-through survey centers to test for the emerging Corona virus, and the establishment of state-level field hospitals, to care for the sick and care for those infected with the Corona virus. disease, in addition to the state sponsorship of the families of those deceased due to the epidemic of all nationalities in the country, and took care of the expenses incurred in the treatment of the injured and isolation during the period of the injury, and established the “Emirates Fund – Homeland of Humanity” to unify national efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.


In a related context, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, is one of the largest contributors to initiatives related to the elimination of neglected tropical diseases, which are the deadliest infectious diseases of the world. and rid poor and developing countries of diseases such as polio, malaria, guinea worm disease, onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis, in cooperation and partnership with relevant international agencies.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him, launched from Abu Dhabi in 2017 the Reaching the Last Mile Fund, a 10-year initiative, valued at $100 million, with the aim of paving the way to end two devastating neglected tropical diseases: onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis. In 2018, the fund provided more than 13.5 million treatments for both patients and trained some 76,000 health workers to help expand treatment reach and areas .

The UAE is among the largest donors to support efforts to support malaria eradication, including the Partnership for Results-Based Management to End Malaria, a global platform to coordinate actions to rid the world of malaria, while the United Arab Emirates also serves as a leader in the field of management results, contributing to new operational research and additional advocacy efforts to eliminate malaria from the Roll Back Malaria Alliance, where there has been a significant decline in Malaria cases and deaths in the last 15 years.
