Missing and ‘vulnerable’ woman rescued by UK police using a drone

A woman

A “vulnerable” and “confused” woman was found using a drone and rescued by UK police after being seen walking through an industrial site in Gravesend, south-east England, late at night on April 30, according to Kent Police. Police said the lone woman was seen walking into a river over “jagged mounds of sand” and that she was “in danger of serious injury, either by falling or inadvertently stepping into the water.” Due to “total darkness” conditions, PC drone pilot Andy Green used thermal imaging to find the woman and then guided officers, who made contact with her just after midnight, police said. The woman was found uninjured but “in a state of confusion,” and police determined that she was lost while she was on her way to her home. “The drone was vitally important in safely locating this woman, who was in serious danger of harm,” drone pilot PC Green said, according to Kent Police.
