(CBS DETROIT) — Republican and Democratic senators from Michigan are pushing bills that could stop the gas tax.
The bills would stop the collection of the 6% sales and use tax on gas purchases. The measures received bipartisan support.

It would run from June 15 to September 15.

According to AAA, the average price of gasoline in Michigan stands at $4.56 per gallon as of Thursday.
