Ron Zimmerman, whose varied career included writing for Marvel comics, producing film and television, and doing stand-up comedy, died of cancer on July 28, according to reports and social media posts from friends.
He was known in the movies as a writer/producer in the Friday the 13th series, and to work on The only, a 2001 science fiction film starring Jet Li. His extensive television credits include executive producing and consulting credits on Shake It Up, The Michael Richards ShowY Actionamong others.
Zimmerman was also a regular guest at the Howard Stern Show, with a hilarious appearance that led to him writing a lengthy job for Marvel Comics. At Marvel, he wrote the series. Spider-Man: Get Kraven, just like him ultimate adventure series and work on The Punisher, Captain Marvel Y Spiderman.
His most notable Marvel work was in rawhide boypart of Marvel’s MAX line of mature readers, a revival of the cowboy character with gay overtones.
Zimmerman also gained attention as the boyfriend of singer-actress Cher, who corresponded with him on Facebook for a time before meeting him in real life. He posted a tribute online after news of her death (see below).
