Marshall fire victim loses home battling cancer

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) – A woman who lost her home in the Marshall fire is also battling cancer, which makes things even more difficult.

About a week before the Great Fire hit the Louisville and Superior areas, Linda Dugan, 73, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

“She left on December 20,” her daughter Kim Dugan said. “She was diagnosed on the 22nd.”

Linda Dugan lost the house she shared with her best friend on December 30.

For now, Dugan remains at the Boulder Community Hospital. The hope is that she will be released this weekend.

“She loved her house, her neighborhood,” Kim added. “She might not be able to rebuild herself, and it’s really heartbreaking.”

The family created a GoFundMe to help Dugan rebuild himself and get through his struggle.
