Manchester United are reportedly keen to sign much-loved Argentina striker Julian Alvarez “straight away”.
It’s no big surprise that United are linked with River Plate who have scored 18 goals in 21 appearances this season in Argentina.
According to reports in AS via Sport Witness, the 21-year-old agent is in Europe to try to finalize a deal.
The article claims that Fernando Hidalgo’s first meeting on behalf of his client took place in Manchester on Monday where he spoke with representatives of United.
The Red Devils are reportedly the Argentina international’s “main contender” and the club “intend to take him to the Premier League now”.
Meanwhile, as MEN has previously reported, Paul Pogba is unlikely to leave Old Trafford in January.
Sky Sports reporter Ben Ransom also said, via Football Fancast, that Pogba will still be a United player in February.
“Pogba I’m sure Mino Raiola I’m sure will be shaping his future, but at the moment it’s too early for Ralf Rangnick to say what’s going to happen this month,” Ransom said. .
“Considering the fact that we don’t expect Pogba to return to full training for a few weeks – still a few weeks for him to be in good shape – you would suggest something be resolved this summer instead.”
Pogba is currently out of action at United with a thigh injury.
