co-star come aspen He added: “You protect your diamonds, you don’t share them… That’s what she’s doing.”
Although Brett was not filmed for the current season of southern charmMadison scoffed at the possibility, someday, maybe.
“I know these relationships are going to work, and I want them to work so badly that when we bring everyone else [i.e. cast members, crew], you see how this goes all the time,” he said. “I think it takes a special kind of person to do reality TV, to be honest. But it is not his forte. It’s not his style, but I think he’s warming up. So we’re not going to say never, I’m trying to let him know that it’s not as bad as it used to be.”
Madison was alluding to the dramatic conclusion of her on-and-off relationship with Austen. “She was depressed, emotionally and mentally drained from that previous relationship,” she explained. “Austen is not husband material, and I quickly realized what that is, and I have been put on a pedestal in the relationship that I am in. And I think all women deserve that kind of love. And as you can see, it has definitely changed my point of view on everything. I mean, in general, being happy and not being in a toxic situation.”
“Of the three years of gray zone, we had never talked about marriage or anything like that,” he said. “So it was definitely refreshing to be with someone who knew exactly what she wanted and wanted the same things.”
“It was kind of a college relationship,” the star added. “It was fun and you know, everyone likes drama sometimes, but it’s… I feel so blessed to be out of it.”
Madison addressed Austen’s reactions, craig conoverY pink sheep after their engagement announcement, which was shown in a recent episode when Shep claimed that Austen didn’t “[dodge] a bullet, maybe a cannonball.”

“I feel very validated in that and I’m happy that everyone got to see what he really is like and what he is, I don’t know… I don’t want to curse here, but the F-boy ways,” she expressed. “He’s not a one-woman kind of guy.”
Despite her many problems, Madison was grateful that Austen did not try to destroy the news of Madison’s engagement. “I thank him for that, because I think I expected some kind of maturity from him to even congratulate me,” she said. “I was more surprised that the guys had more to say, betting [on if my relationship would last] and everything, but I think everyone is jealous. Like I said, everyone tried to connect with me and that just didn’t work.”
Madison then addressed her tense encounter with Austen’s new romantic partner, Olivia Flowers, which was teased in the season eight trailer. At the end of her discussion, Olivia stormed off as she motioned to Madison.
“Honestly, I was surprised that a double bird would spin me,” Madison said. “If I had to do that, can you imagine the names they would call me? So whether it’s junk or trust fund junk, does it really matter? It’s kind of like, wow, did you just ignore me? She had to leave the table. But I think that was smart for her. But she was actually giving him a compliment. I guess then it didn’t turn out that way. I think everyone knows that it’s better to be on my good side, because I can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
This side of Madison was perhaps on display at the season seven reunion, which Venita called a “dumpster fire.” During the recording, Craig and Austen questioned Madison about her alleged affair with Alex Rodriguez while he was engaged to the actress Jennifer Lopez.
