Waurn Ponds lavish home set for suburban record

This is the highest price paid for a single story house in the growing southern suburb of Geelong.

Buxton, Leopold’s agent Brett Johnston said the result met his expectations and those of his sellers for the 500m² property.

“These are the prices of Highton, and Highton has changed as well,” Mr. Johnston said.

“We had an open house and two people were trying to win.

“It’s a custom built home that has the best of finishes and appliances, from the moment you walk through the front door you see the standard and the quality.”

The residence was built in 2019 by Signature Homes.

Mr Johnston said the location was exceptional in terms of quality, luxury and setting – close to downtown Armstrong Creek and the Geelong ring road.

“This is one of the best homes in the area that I have been to,” said Mr. Johnston.

“The difference is that no other house on the estate looks like it”

Beyond the striking façade, a wide entrance awaits you, as well as black light fixtures, dual remote control blinds and wardrobes throughout the house.

But it was the large office at the back of the house that stood out to buyers – a young professional couple.

“Due to the current climate, they both work from home, so the study aspect was important to them as it allows them both to work from home,” said Mr. Johnston.

The new owners will also be spending a lot of time in the family living / dining room and nearby outdoor space.

A multipurpose room with sliding doors and fitted wardrobes could be used as a playroom, second living area or fourth bedroom.

Other features included a chef’s kitchen with a huge stone bench and pantry for the butler, a parents’ retreat with a double shower in the bathroom, and a basketball court in the backyard.

The previous suburban record for Mt Duneed was the sale of 11 Cornell Ave for $ 985,000 in November 2021.
