South Australia’s chief medical officer has denied rumors that there are tensions between her and Prime Minister Steven Marshall.
Professor Nicola Spurrier was asked if she had resigned her post when she returned to Daily Coronavirus Updates today.
“Why would I threaten to quit, I’m here to handle a pandemic, not to mess around,” Ms. Spurrier said.
“Absolutely no to this kind of question.
She said that despite rumors that she had quit or been sick with COVID-19, she was still working as a CHO.
“I get on extremely well with the Prime Minister. We spend a lot of time chatting and we have done extremely well in South Australia as a team.”
“I am very happy with the way we have handled the Omicron outbreak.”
