John Mayer Tests Postive For Covid-19, Dead & Company Cancels Mexico Shows – Deadline

The Grateful Dead Dead & Company affiliate canceled resort shows scheduled in Cancun, Mexico this weekend. Leader John Mayer tested positive for Covid-19 shortly before his departure.

Initially, the group planned to continue without Mayer, but today decided to cancel the “Playing in the Sand” shows. Ticket holders will be refunded with details to be emailed to holders.

Dead & Company includes former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, with Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti to augment them. The group has existed since 2015.

Notice of the canceled show was posted on the group’s Instagram.
