Joe Biden: High gas prices are part of an ‘incredible transition’

President Biden said record gasoline prices are part of an “incredible transition” that will make America and the world better off.

During a visit to Japan on Monday, Biden celebrated a national average gas price of $4.59 as growing pains Americans must go through to reduce the economy’s reliance on fossil fuels.

“[When] it’s about gasoline prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less dependent on fossil fuels when this is over,” he told a conference in press after his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
