Britney Spears posted on Twitter a long comment addressed to his sister Jamie Lynn Spearsfrom the ABC News interview on Wednesday before the publication of Jamie Lynn’s memoir, Things I should have said. Jamie Lynn was the first member of the Spears family to give an interview since a Los Angeles court freed the pop star from a 13-year conservatorship led in part by her father, Jamie Spear, who controlled his career, his finances and his travels.
Britney wrote: “The 2 things that bothered me my sister said was how out of control my behavior was. She was never around me 15 years ago at this time…so why are they even talking about this unless she wants to sell a book at my expense??? REALLY ???”
“So where did the lady mention why did she accuse you of remixing her songs,” she added. “I know this might sound silly to most people, but I wrote a lot of my songs and my sister was the baby. She never had to work for anything. Everything was always given to her !!!If you were me you might understand asking for remixes for 13 years to go to a small concert hall and on tour!!!!13 years later they named me the MOTHER OF ALL …heart of gold… Britney sat there watching a 15 minute performance of everything I ever wanted.
Jamie Lynn was on Nickelodeon All that casting, before playing in Zoe 101. She took a break from her acting career when she became pregnant with her first daughter at 16, but got back to it years later with Netflix. Sweet magnolias. A major point of contention between the sisters, which Britney refers to in her statement, was when Jamie Lynn performed remixed versions of her songs at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.
“I remember asking my sister why she did that when she knew I was waiting to change the show and her only words were ‘well it wasn’t my idea’… I hope your book does well, Jamie Lynn!!!!” Britney added. “My family ruined my dreams 100 billion percent and try to make me look crazy when I have a fever of 104, can’t move in my bed!!!! My family loves pulling me down down and still hurting me so I’m disgusted by them!!!!”
Britney added that she’ll be taking a break from Instagram because she’s given too much to “the media” and “this stuff” already.
In response, Jamie Lynn posted a statement on Instagram, in which she claims that her sister’s public statements do not match the exchanges they have in private and that her family is receiving death threats. “I hate to burst my sister’s bubble, but my book isn’t about her,” writes Jamie Lynn. “I can’t help being born Spears too and some of my experiences involve my sister. I worked hard even before I was a teenager and built my career despite being someone’s little sister.
“There are no sides, and I don’t want drama, but I’m speaking my truth to heal my traumas, so I can close this chapter and move on, and I wish my sister could do the same,” she added. “No matter what happens, I will always love my big sister and be there for her. It’s time to end the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long.
