Sky News presenter Paul Murray says “there is a philosophical difference” between the two main parties, and their housing policies show it.
“We have a scenario where you have the Labor Party offer, which is ‘we’ll give you 40 per cent to help you get over the line, but we own 40 per cent forever,'” Murray said.
“’If the value of the joint goes up, you have to give us 40 percent of the sale price, which means we make a profit on you,’” he said.
“Against the government saying ‘you can have access to part of your super, you can use that for your housing deposit.’
“And guess what? That’s it, done. You don’t have to pay the government back.”
