Hernandez leads AC Milan to Serie A lead

AC Milan dominated Italian Serie A with a 3-0 victory over Venezia on Sunday thanks to a brace from Theo Hernandez in the second half, bringing the team to their third consecutive victory in the competition.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored from close range two minutes later, making Venezia the 80th team the veteran Swedish striker has scored in the five major European leagues, a record only Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved since 2000.

Hernandez scored early in the second half, before Venezia defender Michael Svoboda was sent off for using his arm to block a ball on the way to goal, and Hernandez scored again from the penalty spot.

Milan rose to the top with 48 points in 21 games, two points behind Inter Milan, who have played 19 games and will face Lazio today.

Venezia is impossible to win in the league for the seventh game in a row and occupies 16th place with 17 points, four points from the relegation zone.
