France will restrict access to indoor facilities to vaccines only by mid-January

The French government hopes to restrict access to restaurants and indoor events to only those who are vaccinated by mid-January amid rising COVID cases.

So far, residents have been able to provide proof of vaccination or a negative result to enter the sites.

It comes as 368,000 infections were reported in France yesterday – its highest number of daily COVID cases since the start of the pandemic.

The number has increased its seven-day moving average of new cases to more than 280,000 cases.
