According to BC Hydro’s outage map, only 19 customers in the 2500 – 2600 block of Lake Breeze Crt. they are still without power.

However, more than 3,500 BC Hydro customers on both sides of Lake Okanagan in an area stretching from north of McKinley on the west side of the lake south to Wilson’s Landing and from south of Cedar Grove to the north of Okanagan Center Rd.

There has been a power outage in a wide area of ​​Winfield and Okanagan Center since approximately 1:30 a.m.

BC Hydro’s website says the outage affects 1,517 customers in an area north of Chase Road, around Highway 97 and east of Camp Road.

The blackout was caused by a fire, the details of which are unknown at this time.

Hydro says crews are working on the issue and power isn’t estimated to be restored until 3 p.m.
