FBI Seeks Advice To Identify Man Who Robbed Chase Branch

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A petty thief who claimed to have a concealed weapon robbed a bank in the Clairemont area on Wednesday.

The man confronted a cashier at the Chase branch in Block 5800 of Balboa Avenue at around 3:45 p.m. and presented a note demanding money and stating he had a gun, well none have been seen, according to the FBI.

After the clerk handed over an undisclosed sum of money, the thief left the bank and fled on foot.

He has been described as a thin, bald man of about 5ft 4in in his late twenties or early thirties wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a cloth mask on the lower part of his face, the FBI reported.

Anyone with information about the theft was urged to call the San Diego FBI at 800-225-5324 or send advice to tips.fbi.gov. Information may also be submitted anonymously by contacting San Diego Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or at sdcrimestoppers.org.
