FBI Dive Team Joins Search For Missing 3-Year-Old Texas Girl – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

An FBI dive team joined in the search for a 3-year-old San Antonio girl who went missing two weeks ago, police said on Tuesday.

Lina Sardar Khil was last seen in the playground of an apartment complex northwest of San Antonio in the late afternoon of December 20.

The 12-member FBI Underwater Search and Evidence Response Team arrived from Washington, DC on Monday evening and searched all bodies of water near the youngster’s family apartment on Tuesday. daughter, Police Chief William McManus said.

Looking dejected, McManus said the team were just checking a lead, of which there were few.

“I wish I could be more uplifting. I know it looks like we’re really on to something. But all we’re doing here is follow-up,” he said in a briefing on the search site.

Lina was last seen wearing a red dress, black jacket and black shoes and had her brown hair in a ponytail, police said.

The child’s family had reported that she was in the playground with her mother, who briefly walked away and found the child missing on her return.

The family moved to the United States in 2019 from Afghanistan after fleeing “threats against us,” Lina’s father Riaz Sardar Khil told KENS-TV.
