Egyptian media have revealed details of the illness that caused the death of the great Egyptian actress, Maha Abu Auf, after being seriously ill for the past few hours.
Egyptian media reported that Abu Auf died of acute pneumonia, following lung cancer.
Oncology professor Muhammad Saad Al-Ashry confirmed that lung cancer is a fatal disease that affects the most important part of the body, which are the lungs responsible for the respiratory process, so it is a vital center for the patient, and threatens his or her life when infected.
The annual death rate of lung cancer patients is so high that it exceeds “colon, prostate, lymph node and breast” diseases combined.
As for acute pneumonia, which is one of the most prominent symptoms indicating lung cancer, Dr Yousry Akl, head of the chest department at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, said : “It’s an infection that affects part of the human lung or both lungs, and it has nothing to do with it. With pulmonary fibrosis, the treatment protocol varies from person to person.
The Acting Professions Union in Egypt called the talented artist Maha Abu Auf to a New Cairo hospital after battling cancer at the age of 65.
