Damage assessments underway in Queensland after ‘unprecedented’ flooding

Authorities are assessing the damage in parts of Queensland after the state suffered an “unprecedented” amount of flooding.

The teams are in Maryborough today who received about 600 millimeters of rain in less than 24 hours.

Work is underway to restore power to around 380 customers while Queensland Rail will reopen later this evening.

Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk called the flooding in the region “unprecedented”.
