Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe limped off the ground and entered the quarters with what appears to be a hamstring injury, continuing his torrid run of injuries.
Fyfe made a running effort to chase the ball into the front pocket and was pushed from behind by Richmond captain Dylan Grimes.
He immediately grabbed his left hamstring as he ran towards the fence.
He made a fleeting effort to stay on the construction site before turning toward the intersection and heading under Marvel Stadium, accompanied by a doctor.
Travis Colyer has been activated as a medical substitute, and Fyfe returns to the bench sporting an ice pack.
Fyfe had spent most of the game out front alongside Griffin Logue to fill the void left by the injured Rory Lobb. He had already kicked a goal from his 10 disposals.
It’s Fyfe’s fifth game back since completing an arduous recovery that included shoulder and back surgery.
The Dockers have five games left in 2022 as they look to cement a top-four spot heading into what will likely be their first Finals appearance since 2015.
More to come.
