Brazil records first death of mutant “Omicron”

The city of Aparecida de Goiania, in the Brazilian state of Goias, recorded the first death of the omicron mutant, according to a report by local newspaper O Globo, citing the Municipal Secretariat of Health.

And the Bloomberg News Agency cited the report as saying the 68-year-old patient suffered from comorbidities, including chronic pulmonary embolism and high blood pressure.

According to the report, the man has already received three doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
