Boy dies after being hit by a car while chasing a dog

A boy was killed when he was hit by a car when he ran into the road while chasing a dog. western sydney.

Emergency services arrived at Richmond Road, Doonside, after a six-year-old boy was hit by a car at around 1pm

NSW Ambulance Chief Inspector Brian Parsell said the boy is believed to have run into the road while chasing a dog.

The six-year-old boy is in critical condition. (9News)

“Unfortunately, he was hit by a passing car,” Parsell said.

Paramedics and helicopter flight crews resuscitated the boy at the scene.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he later died.

The male driver of the car is assisting police with investigations,” NSW Police said in a statement.

A crime scene has been established.
