Bairstow after three abusive fans were kicked out

Sydney [Australia]Jan. 7 (ANI): England hitter Jonny Bairstow has said it would have been good if the supporters who mistreated him were still around after the strains at Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.

Three men were kicked out of the stadium without charges being brought against England’s pair Ben Stokes and Bairstow who were verbally beaten during the tea break on day three of the ongoing 4th Ash Test against the ‘Australia.

In footage obtained by The Age and the Herald of a witness, the couple are ridiculed for their body shape by at least one fan as they climb the steps to the locker room at the Members Lodge. “Stokes, you’re fat,” said one fan. “Take off your sweater, Bairstow, lose weight Bairstow,” the England hitter was told.

Bairstow retaliated with “Pal, it’s fair, turn around and walk away”, before three people were thrown out of SCG.

On day three, Bairstow touched on the first century of the series in England, but will have work to do tomorrow, batting with the tail to make up the 158 innings shortfall in the first inning. Ben Stokes scored 66 points as the tourists resume on 258/7 on day four.

Asked about his previous verbal exchange with a spectator, Bairstow replied after the play of the day: “It was a bit of a sore mouth. It’s not necessary. We’re trying to do our job, people are there to help. enjoy cricket. Unfortunately sometimes people go over the mark. “” I think it’s important to defend yourself because if we don’t defend yourself you can get away with it. When people go over the mark you have to say. would have been nicer if we were there to give it away when we left at the end, right? Unfortunately they weren’t there at the end they missed the end of a fantastic day cricket test, ”he added.

Notably, this incident comes a year after Indian pacemaker Mohammed Siraj reported racial abuse to SCG. Six spectators were then removed from the ground on this occasion. (ANI)
