Another fatal shooting at Riverside memorial site for two more dead earlier this week

A man was shot and killed Thursday night at the site of a monument in Riverside by two others who were shot to death earlier this week near the same location.

The shooting occurred on Pierce Street near La Sierra Avenue, according to Riverside police spokesman Ryan Railsback.

The shooting victim was at a memorial site for the other victims of a triple shooting that happened early Wednesday that left two dead and a third in critical condition.

The Thursday night victim was shot in the head, Railsback said. Paramedics performed CPR before he was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately provided.

It is not clear how the two incidents can be connected. No suspicious information or a possible motive was immediately disclosed.

At approximately 2:15 am Wednesday, Riverside police responded to the same area to find two people with gunshot wounds. One died at the scene and the second was taken to a hospital.

A third shooting victim was found in a car whose occupants waved to officers on an off-ramp off the 91 Freeway. The group in the car said the man had been shot and stopped breathing. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died. Investigators later determined that the man had also been shot at the Pierce Street location.
