(CBS DETROIT) – Adoption and license fees will be waived for Detroit Animal Care in association with the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s national “Empty the Shelters” program.
Fees will be waived May 2-15.

Detroit Animal Care is one of more than 275 shelters participating in the program.
In addition to waiving fees during this two-week period, Detroit Animal Care is giving away free flowers to anyone who adopts a pet on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, while supplies last.

“We are delighted to once again partner with the BISSELL Pet Foundation on their ‘Empty the Shelters’ spring promotion which provides generous support to shelters across the country, including our own,” said Mark Kumpf, director of Detroit Animal Care. . “Our partnership with the BISSELL Pet Foundation allows us to waive adoption and license fees for a two-week period in May. By making adoptions more affordable, we can find homes for many deserving animals in need. We also want to honor everyone who comes out on Mother’s Day with a flower to show our appreciation for opening their hearts and homes to a new four-legged friend.”
All animals are microchipped and neutered.
Detroit Animal Care is located at 7401 Chrysler Drive and is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
