2022 Australian Open draw delayed, no further justification given

Disclosure of the Australian Open draw has been delayed until further notice, with no justification or deadline provided.

A decision by Immigration Minister Alex Hawke as to whether he will use his ministerial power to cancel the visa of seed Novak Djokovic is still looming.

The Australian Open main draw is scheduled to start on Monday.

The world will be watching Australian Ash Barty as she looks to continue her success at the Adelaide International with a grand slam victory.

Australian Open tennis commentator and court announcer Brett Phillips said the opening rounds would be crucial for Barty to overcome.

“For Ash, it will be fascinating. I think as soon as we see the draw we’ll start to chart its course,” Phillips told the ABC.

More soon.
